India Clean Air Connect is a response to air quality convenings hosted by the India Climate Collaborative, Clean Air Fund, ClimateWorks Foundation and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation in 2019 and 2020.

Job description
ITDP India is looking to hire a Research Associate - Urban Development with experience and interest in research on urban design, urban planning, transport systems, and public policy. The ideal candidate must be passionate about creating streets and cities that prioritises walking, cycling, and public transport, proficient in conducting high-quality research, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position requires 40 hours per week and is based in Chennai. The selected candidate will work closely with ITDP India’s programmatic team in Tamil Nadu and require to travel regularly to the different cities in the state

Qualification and Essential Attributes

- Postgraduate degree in urban design, urban planning, or other relevant fields. Candidates with an undergraduate degree and more than three years of relevant work experience can apply.
- Minimum 2 years experience in working with/for government agencies
- Excellent English writing and editing skills
- Conversational proficiency in the regional language (Tamil)
- Proficiency in using GIS tools for data mapping, analysis, and verification.
- Strong time-management and organisational skills
- Ability to maintain high standards while contributing pragmatic ideas
