Job description

CSTEP is looking for 2 candidates with experience in air pollution studies to help in developing clean air action plans. The candidate should be able to perform statistical analysis, develop/use mathematical models, and be familiar with key economic terms. She/he should have experience in analysing and visualising data that can lead to actionable insights.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Collect and analyse different types of pollution-related data sets ( e.g., emission factors, activity data, geolocation, etc.).
  • · Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training programmes, as needed.
  • · Assist senior team members in proposal writing, report writing, and project development activities.

· Strong research skills with good written and oral communication skills.

· Knowledge and demonstrable experience in programmatic data analysis (e.g., Python or R).

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

· Good analytical skills (review data, observe patterns, and draw logical conclusions)

Good to have

· Prior working experience in GIS tools like ArcGIS or QGIS.

· Knowledge of data-analysis methods like exploratory analysis and inferential analysis.

· Working knowledge of cost-benefit analysis of air-pollution control measures.

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Economics, Statistics, or Engineering (in an area related to air pollution, atmospheric chemistry, environmental science or equivalent). 2 years of relevant work experience in Air Pollution studies.
